This species, up to 25 cm high, has broad blue-green leaves that are folded together, as it were. On the inner petals, two green spots are placed so close together that it appears as if the entire flower tube (the three fused inner petals) is green. Blooms one to sometimes two weeks earlier - February to April - than Galanthus nivalis.
