Why is Teak Sealer 3 so much better than teak or teak oil or other maintenance products:
It retains the golden brown color of teak for longer.
Teak oil often gives black spots to the teak. Teak Sealer 3 prevents black spots.
The Teak Sealer 3 from Traditional Teak is water-based, non-greasy and does not stain.
Instructions
Clean gray teak or teak oil treated teak first with teak cleaner & brightner 1 & 2
If the teak feels rough, sand it lightly before treatment with teak sealer 3
The teak must be 100% dry and dust-free before you start. Leave new teak wood outside for a week before applying teak sealer 3.
Cover the surface of your workplace before you start
Shake the teak sealer 3 for at least 1 minute before use (insufficient shaking can lead to uneven discolourations)
We recommend that you first test Teak Sealer 3 on a small area (for example, the back of the leg) to assess whether the color meets your expectations.
Apply the Teak sealer evenly and thinly on the furniture with a "lint-free" cloth. Apply a second coat after drying for 30 minutes
We recommend treating your teak furniture with teak sealer 3 once a year
NEVER USE A HIGH-PRESSURE SYRINGE ON YOUR TEAK FURNITURE
To make the furniture water and dirt repellent, we recommend that you treat the furniture with Teak PatinaShield 4 & 5 (even if you do not opt for a longer golden-brown color / Teak Sealer 3). The Patina slows down the process of color change and ensures for a beautiful silver gray patina. The Shield applies a protected layer to the wood surface. This prevents stains and ensures that dirt, moisture and algae growth do not penetrate the teak.
