Lemon balm is a perennial, herbaceous plant with serrated, hairy leaves that are light green in color. The leaf gives off a lemon-like odor, hence the name Lemon balm. If the plant grows in full sun / dry soil, the leaves can turn yellow. Flowering takes place in July / August, with the plant bearing light yellow to white flowers. This herb can be added to many dishes such as (fruit) salads, sauerkraut, custard pudding and also to fruit drinks and wine. It is also possible to make tea from it.
