This is an evergreen plant with leathery, spicy scented leaves. The white flowers also smell, but then sweet. They appear from February to June, sometimes with an afterglow in the fall (do prune them back after the first flowering). Choisyas cannot stand much frost and that is why it is important to put them in a sheltered warm place. Of course it can also be placed in a pot that is stored away from frost. The Choisya ternata is better hardy than the normal Choisya species. He prefers acidic soil, but at least not calcareous soil. Likes a lot of sun.
