Origin: California and Oregon where they grow and flower in the ‘Redwood’ woodlands, particularly in grassy places. The American name ‘Firecracker-Flower’ is very suitable: the flower heads appear30-60 cm high-crooked stem. They stick out in five to nine fiery red hanging pipe-shaped florets, which are accentuated by the clear green tops and white heart. Easy to propagate in a pot in the greenhouse or in a sunny, warm spot in the garden: cover it!
