In May and June large panicles of pure white flowers appear on this plant. The flowering is sometimes so rich that they largely cover the plant. Deutzias flower on biennial wood and are an important asset in the garden because they bloom in the early summer rest. The spring bloomers are then often at their end and the summer bloomers have yet to start. If the bush is in full sun, it will get the most flowers. After flowering the faded branches are removed to a point where a young shoot originates. Weak branches are also removed. The plant usually grows to a height of 70 cm.
