The fruits of the Euonymus alatus resemble the cardinal's hat. Hence the name. In the fall the shrub gets beautiful pinkish red hues. Red-orange berries also appear on the bush. If the leaf falls off the shrub, you will see the special cork moldings. The flowers are yellow-green in color and fairly inconspicuous. It is best to place the shrub in a sunny spot, although it can also be in the shade.
